NDRF Full Form is National Disaster Response Force. NDRF Hindi is full form National Disaster Response Force. As the name of NDRF suggests, it is a team that has been formed to help people in times of national disasters like landslides, floods and earthquakes and man-made crises in the country. The NDRF was established under Section 44 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

Under the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the NDRF is formed and the NDRF operates within the country line of the NDMA. The President of NDMA is the Prime Minister of India, who is presently Mr. Narendra Modi. The director of the NDRF is an IPS officer.

During the August 2018 floods in Kerala, 58 teams of NDRF carried out relief work, which was the largest deployment till date. During this period, the NDRF got more than 10 thousand people out of the flood-affected areas and saved the lives of about 200 people.

Information about NDRF BATTALIONS

At present, there are total 12 Battalions in the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), which are deployed in different parts of the country. The reason behind the deployment in different parts of India is that at the time of crisis, one battalion should reach there as soon as possible and get involved in the help.

The NDRF consists of 3 Border Security Force (BSF) battalions, 3 Central Reserve Police Force (CISF), 2 Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), 2 Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and 2 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) battalions.

How to join NDRF?

If you also want to be admitted to the NDRF and save the lives of people in times of natural calamities, then for that you will have to be admitted to the Paramilitary Force first. The NDRF consists of a total of 12 battalions, in which the personnel is recruited from BSF, CRPF, SSB, CISF, and ITBP Paramilitary Force.

If you are in school now, then you have to complete your 12th studies first, after that you apply for recruitment in one of the paramilitary forces. After recruitment in BSF, CRPF, or any one of the paramilitary forces mentioned above, you have to serve for 3-4 years. Only then can you apply for Bharti in NDRF.

Out of the few candidates who have applied for recruitment to NDRF, some qualified candidates are selected and sent for training.
